Captain's Welcome 2026​

 

Dear Gentlemen,

A new season is upon us and as the New Captain of the BTU North East Golfing Society I'm looking forward to what will hopefully be an epic year of events.  I want to take a moment to express my absolute gratitude to Dean Hulme as he hands over the baton.  He has truly set a high standard, and I am honoured to follow in his footsteps.

 

It fills me with pride to represent a Society with history dating back to 1956.  This year we celebrate 70 years, which we will celebrate with a  two day event at Ramside Hall Golf Club & Hotel on the 4th and 5th October 2026.

 

As we prepare for the 2026 golf season, I am genuinely excited to welcome each of you back to the year outings.  This year holds special promise for us - not just in terms of competitions, but in the friendships to rekindle and the memories we create together.  As my predecessor stated, “Our Society is built on more than just the sport; it’s about the camaraderie, the shared laughter, and the spirit of sportsmanship that unites us all”.

 

I’m looking forward to some fantastic venues for our meetings this season, and I’m particularly eager for the Team Events, including the National which will be held at The Forest of Arden, The Border Trophy and our 70th Anniversary bash.  Your support will be invaluable as we strive to keep or bring those Trophies home together.
